Platform-verified facts about each wave, not the camp's marketing. Hazards are stated plainly.
Playa Guiones is a long, sandy, forgiving beach break with enough peaks that you rarely share one. That makes it the single best place we know to go from standing up to actually surfing. The town is a protected reserve, which is why there are no streetlights, no beach clubs and no noise after ten. Families and people who came to sleep tend to prefer it here.

For surfers who want somewhere to sleep, somewhere to rinse a wetsuit and a lift to the beach when the van is going anyway. Breakfast is included; nothing else is.
WHAT IS INCLUDED
WHAT IS NOT
Fixed departure
A fixed Saturday-to-Saturday week with one group and one coach.
on top of the room
One group, one coach, seven nights, Saturday to Saturday. The week is structured: theory on day one, video on days three and five, a dawn patrol on the best forecast day and a rest morning after it. Numbers are capped by what one coach can safely watch in the water, not by how many beds we have.
WHAT IS INCLUDED
WHAT IS NOT
Flexible stay
One surf, one yoga class, one long afternoon. Every day.
on top of the room
A slower shape to the day: one coached session in the morning, a yoga class in the late afternoon, and nothing scheduled in between. Suits people who want to surf every day for a fortnight without ending it injured.
WHAT IS INCLUDED
WHAT IS NOT
Flexible stay
Bed, breakfast and two coached sessions a day. Arrive any day.
on top of the room
Two guided sessions a day with a coach in the water, video review on the days it is worth reviewing, and a forecast briefing every morning. Arrive on any day and stay as long as you like — the schedule works around whoever is here.

ARRIVING AND LEAVING
15:00 → 10:30
Check in from 15:00, out by 10:30, local time at the camp (America/Costa Rica). Every deadline we quote you — cancellation included — is in that zone, not yours.
PAID AT THE PROPERTY
Nothing
No tourist levy at this property. What you pay online is what the stay costs.
WHO CAN STAY
18+ only
Surfcamps.World does not book under-18s, anywhere, in this version. Every person on a booking confirms their age before the dates are held — not after you have paid.
TAX ON THE STAY
13%
Accommodation tax, charged on the room and any package. It is already inside the total in the booking panel — no surprise at the desk.
WHAT WE HAVE CHECKED
We verify these ourselves. Anything not listed here, we have not checked.
STAYS BOOKED THROUGH US

These are the exact terms our refund engine computes against — not a summary of them.

FIRST TIMER · 6 NIGHTS IN MAY
Honest place. The forecast briefing every morning was the most useful part — I finally understand why a spot works on one tide and not the other. The waves were smaller than I hoped for the week I picked, which is nobody's fault, and they moved us to the sheltered break rather than pretend.

THE CAMP REPLIED
Thanks for writing this up, and for being specific — the 6am van is a fair hit. We have moved to one late start a week from this season, on whichever morning the forecast is worst. Come back and hold us to it.

INTERMEDIATE · 6 NIGHTS IN MAY
Booked the fixed week and it was worth the extra over the flexible option: one group, one coach, and everyone at roughly the same level so nobody was waiting around. The wave out front is not a beginner wave and the listing says so — believe it.

We will not put a percentage on a guess. A match score is only worth reading when it is built on what you actually want — your level, the waves you like, what you are going for.
It takes about two minutes, and it changes every camp you see from then on.
