The Bukit reefs and the black-sand beach breaks north of them. April to October is the dry season and the trade winds blow offshore on this coast.
A surf coastline is a different place in February than it is in August. These are the 12 coastlines we hold breaks on, each with twelve months of size, wind and crowd behind it.
Condition quality, 0–100, for every coastline in every month: swell consistency, size and offshore wind rolled into one figure and taken from the best break on that coast. July is ringed.

The Bukit reefs and the black-sand beach breaks north of them. April to October is the dry season and the trade winds blow offshore on this coast.
Offshore almost every morning of the year thanks to the Lake Nicaragua wind gap, with southern-hemisphere swell from April.
Long left points on black sand, offshore in the prevailing easterly. Southern-hemisphere winter is the season.
Consistent Pacific swell nearly every day of the year, with offshore mornings through the dry season and heavy rain from September.
Reef passes on the Pacific edge of the Philippines. The swell comes with the typhoon season, roughly August to November.
Sandbars fed by a deep canyon. September and October are the best weeks in Europe; February is for a very small number of people.
Cold, consistent and rarely crowded. Swell all year, biggest through the winter, and a 5/4 with boots is not optional.
Two coastlines meeting at Cape St Vincent. When the west is too big or too windy, the south side is usually rideable — the reason Sagres works all year.
Portugal's exposed west-facing coast north of Lisbon. Swell arrives almost every day of the winter; the summer is small and the water never gets warm.
Right-hand points north of Agadir. A pure winter coast: October to March is the season and the summer is genuinely flat.
North Atlantic groundswell from December to March, warm water all year, and reliable afternoon trade wind for everything else.
A November-to-April coast. The southwest monsoon shuts it down from May and the east coast takes over.
