Cancellation and refunds
The refund bands every camp chooses from, quoted from the live policy rows — not a description of them.
This document states plainly how the platform behaves — the mechanics described here are the mechanics the software enforces. The trading entity, registered address, governing law and the binding contract wording are added before the first real booking is taken. Until then, treat this as a description of the product rather than as an executed agreement.
How a refund is worked out
Every camp attaches one of the policies below to its listing. The policy in force is the one attached to your booking at the moment you made it — if the camp changes policy afterwards, your booking keeps the terms you agreed to.
Before you confirm a cancellation, we compute the refund and show it to you line by line, with the deadline stated in the camp’s own timezone and the offset spelled out. Nothing is cancelled until you have seen that figure and confirmed it.
Flexible
Free cancellation up to 14 days before check-in, and a grace period of 48 hours after booking during which you can cancel for a full refund whatever the band says. The deposit is refundable under this policy, and refunds are calculated on the accommodation total, excluding platform fees.
| When you cancel | You get back |
|---|---|
| 14 days or more before check-in | 100% |
| 7 to 14 days before check-in | 50% |
| Under 7 days before check-in | 0% |
Moderate
Free cancellation up to 21 days before check-in, and a grace period of 24 hours after booking during which you can cancel for a full refund whatever the band says. The deposit is not refundable under this policy, and refunds are calculated on the accommodation total, excluding platform fees.
| When you cancel | You get back |
|---|---|
| 30 days or more before check-in | 100% |
| 14 to 30 days before check-in | 50% |
| Under 14 days before check-in | 0% |
Strict
Free cancellation up to 30 days before check-in, and a grace period of 24 hours after booking during which you can cancel for a full refund whatever the band says. The deposit is not refundable under this policy, and refunds are calculated on the accommodation total, excluding platform fees.
| When you cancel | You get back |
|---|---|
| 60 days or more before check-in | 100% |
| 30 to 60 days before check-in | 50% |
| Under 30 days before check-in | 0% |
If the camp cancels
You are refunded in full, including the platform fee, and the camp carries a penalty for it. If a fixed departure is cancelled, everyone booked onto it is refunded and told at the same time. A camp that can no longer take payment is removed from search, and bookings already confirmed with it are handled individually rather than dropped.
When part of the trip does not happen
A camp can issue a partial refund against a booking that otherwise stands — a lesson that did not run, a transfer that did not arrive. That is a separate action from cancelling, with its own reason recorded, so a small problem does not have to be solved by unwinding the whole stay. If you and the camp disagree, open the thread on the booking first; the record of what was delivered lives there.
