Surfcamps.World is a marketplace. Camps are run by independent businesses; we are not the operator of any camp, we do not employ any coach, and we do not own any bed. When you book, your accommodation and coaching contract is with the camp.

What we are responsible for is the platform itself: the break data, the match, the availability and pricing arithmetic, taking payment, and passing money to the camp. Where this document says “we”, it means the platform. Where it says “the camp”, it means the business you are staying with.

Every break carries twelve month rows — typical and large wave face, share of rideable days, offshore mornings, water temperature, crowd index, and the ability the break demands. These are editorial estimates from long-run observation, each carrying a stated confidence. They describe what a month is usually like.

They are not a forecast and they are not a promise. Check the forecast before you travel and again before you paddle out. A month that reads well on this site can still be flat, blown out or far too big on the week you are there.

A fit score is our reading of how a camp-month lines up with the preferences you gave us. It is only shown when enough of those preferences are answered to stand behind a number; below that floor we show what we would need instead, and never a percentage.

A score is advice. It does not certify that a break is safe for you on the day, and a high score is not a substitute for your own judgement in the water. Where the match says a break is above the ability you told us about, we ask you to acknowledge that, with the break named, before you can hold dates. That acknowledgement is recorded with the booking.

Holding dates takes the beds out of inventory for a limited window while you complete guest details. A hold is not a booking. If the window lapses, the beds are released and anyone can take them.

The price is computed on our side from the camp’s live rates and recomputed before the charge. We never accept a total sent from your browser. A deposit confirms the booking; the balance is collected on a stated date before check-in, from the payment method you authorised for it. Taxes and any levy payable at the property are itemised before you pay.

Our commission is taken from the camp’s side of the payment and is not added to your price. The current rate is stated to camps before they publish and on every booking they receive.

Bookings on this platform are for adults. Every guest in a party confirms they are 18 or over, individually, before the booking completes. There is no under-18 model in this version of the product and camps cannot list a family programme through it.

Reviews can only be written by someone who completed a stay. Your review and the camp’s report on the stay publish together, on a delay, so neither can be written in reply to the other. We remove reviews that contain personal data about a third party, or that are not about the stay.

Messages between guests and camps pass through the platform. We flag attempts to move a booking off-platform, because a booking taken off it has none of the protections described here.

You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you write about your property, for the licences and insurance your jurisdiction requires, and for honouring the bookings you accept. You are not able to edit break data: it is platform-owned so that two camps on the same coast can be compared. You can propose a correction.

Money settles to your own connected Stripe account, with our commission taken as an application fee. Payouts begin the day after check-in. Cancelling a confirmed booking yourself carries a penalty and releases the inventory; the guest is refunded in full.

Surfing carries a real risk of serious injury and death. Reefs are shallow, rips are strong, and remote breaks have no rescue. We publish the hazards we hold on every break, plainly, because that is more useful than a disclaimer — but reading them does not transfer the risk to us. You decide whether to enter the water, and you are responsible for that decision and for your own travel and medical insurance.
